ADEPT’s March webinar in partnership with IOM
Celebrating Bold African Diaspora Women Change-Makers
ADEPT’s March webinar initially planned on the 08 March, is postponed to Thursday 23 March 2017 from 03:30 to 05:30 PM GMT.
The aim of the webinar is to showcase the achievements that women in the diaspora make on the continent to advance gender empowerment and development more broadly. Some of the strongest practitioners, advocates and leaders in African development are African women or women from the diaspora. Both act as role models on the continent and internationally.
We are partnering with IOM (International Organization for Migration) to enhance the visibility and contribution of diaspora and migrant women to development and explore opportunities for women’s economic empowerment.
Speakers include:
- Ms Suzanne Bellnoun, President of the Organisation of African Diaspora Women (OFAD) and the African Diaspora Women Entrepreneurs Club (CLAEE)
- Mr Gibril Faal, ADEPT Interim Director
- Mr. Basil Jones, Officer In Charge and Lead Advisor of the Gender, Women and Civil Society Department at the African Development Bank
- Ms Kalkidan Legesse, Managing Director at Scarves For Sustainability
