Introduction to governance code for charities and civil society organisations

The Governance Code is a voluntary code of good governance practice developed for and by the civil society sector in Ireland. It can also be used by CSOs anywhere in the world to put in place a comprehensive governance structure. This webinar will guide participants through this useful framework and help them use it as a self-evaluation tool in their own organisation.
Mairead O’Connor, Training and Advice Coordinator at The Wheel, the largest network of community and voluntary organisations in Ireland, was the Keynote Speaker. According to Mairead, ‘The importance of good governance for charities is increasingly being recognized by organisations on the ground. Quite simply, a well-governed organisation is more sustainable and effective in delivering on its mission.’
This webinar introduces this tool to ADDOs, thus helping them to think about their organisation’s governance and find practical ways to improve it.
