Day of the African Child 2016
The Day of the African Child was celebrated around the world this month on Thursday 16 June under the theme ‘children in conflict and crises: Protecting all children’s rights’. Based on this year’s theme UNICEF set out to amplify the voices of children and youth across the continent by conducting a mobile-based poll on U-Report* in nine African countries asking youth to provide their opinion on conflicts and crises in Africa through short multiple choice questions on their mobile phones
They have now released the results of their poll in a News Note “African youth to African leaders: You must do more to end conflicts in Africa”, identifying what youth see as the roots for crisis and what can be done to resolve it.
