A report on the Potsdam Spring Dialogues 2016 has been released: ‘Pathways Towards Coordinated African Migration Governance: The African Regional Organisation’s Role’. The report captures the stock of existing mechanisms that over 70 migrant experts from Africa and Europe brought forward, and the scrutinisation of the aims and state of implementation of migration policies and their contribution to economic growth and development in Africa.
ADEPT’s Interim Director, Gibril Faal spoke at event and chaired the session on Mobility and employment: motor for regional economic integration? He was interviewed, explaining how the diaspora contribute to the development of their home countries. Takyiwaa Manuh, Director of the Social Development Policy Division at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), was also interviewed sharing her views on migration governance in Africa.
