The Nairobi Action Plan on Remittances was adopted at ADEPT’s Fifth Diaspora Development Dialogue (DDD5) in Nairobi, Kenya.
DDD5 was organised in partnership with Kenya Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Africa Institute of Remittances and focused on ‘Action needed to reduce remittance costs in Africa’.
The Nairobi Action Plan lays out the framework and necessary steps to reduce remittance costs to Africa to less than 3% by 2020 – ten years sooner than the 2030 global target set by the UN’ Sustainable Development Goals.
